Sharing Web Resources

In week one I chose World Forum Foundation to share with my colleagues. This week I explored through the World Forum Foundation website and found no issues for this week. But, I decided to share information on Working Initiative which took place June, 2012 in Moss Norway. In this meeting Children’s Rights was discussed among twenty professionals world-wide. This group argued the important of young children rights and implemented strategies to achieve these goal. “The goals is to prepare a meeting place for early childhood activists with an interest in building networks of knowledge, support, and advocacy for early childhood practice and policies in regions experiencing or emerging from armed conflict” (World Forum Foundation, 2013).

“The international Working Group on Peace building with Young children is a global initiative of early childhood practitioners, researchers and civil social organizations” (World Forum Foundation, 2013). This group works together for the well-being of children’s rights. This upcoming event of the World Forum on Early Care and Education is in April or May, 2014. These professionals want fairness for all young learners. Therefore, this they travels around the world making plans and arguing for the rights of each individual child’s needs.

  1. Hi Ida, that's great that there is a global effort that has a purpose to protect children's rights. When there is conflict in an area-sometimes the children are not as protected and might be treated unfairly by others. The World Forum Foundation is a great force that can continue to keep children safe and treated fairly. Thanks for the post.

  2. I viewed that website and I love the passion the individuals have that are invovled with that organization. I especially love the fact that everyone is not seen as different but as one despite were they are from. This is an example of how every early child care professional should be when working with children, never she them as different but embraced and nurtured for what they can bring to enhance and enlighten the class as well as the program.

  3. Ida, this sounds like a great organization. Anyone who takes on the initiative to advocate for the rights of children on a professional level is an organization that cares about children's rights to have their basic needs met and for them to receive and education is the type of organization I am always in favor of becoming involved in.
